The proposed I-77 project between Uptown Charlotte and Exit 36 in Mecklenburg and Iredell Counties is intended to provide reliable travel times between uptown Charlotte and the Lake Norman area.
The project Includes conversion of the
existing High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to High
Occupancy/Toll (HOT) lanes. It
will not add or remove any of the existing General Purpose Lanes,nor will it
include improvements to existing interchanges.
The HOT lanes would use value pricing, with the toll charged a vehicle dependent on the traffic volume on the highway at the time.
